Gaming Controllers

Tonight, on Inside Access! Nah just kidding, but I know some of you have wondered this – How exactly does the inside of a gaming controller look like? Well dig this, Homie:

Just to give you an idea of how far technology has come, let’s take a look at some of the oldest and newest controllers in history, ranging from the SEGA Genesis to the Xbox One.

Now, although this is an original Xbox controller, technology from the start of xbox to the now present time Xbox One controller has drastically changed.

Here we have a Play Station 2 controller.

Ah, and thus the Gamecube controller has been exposed!

The SEGA Genesis even has some resemblance to now current controllers.

How can we forget the one and only N64 controller.

Now, this is what intrigues me- Nintendo and their creations have undoubtedly changed the world of gaming today, but the innovation they put into a controller such as the Wii remote baffles me and really makes you think about how far gaming has come.

The simplicity of the NES controller just can’t compare to modern day tech, but back then this was an insane evolution in the gaming industry. In addition, for such simple mechanics to the controller itself, the amount of fun oneself could have with it definitely competes with modern tech.

Atari Jaguar, also known as the behemoth of gaming controllers.

Inside the Xbox One controller

I know this isn’t the best photo of the X1 controller but even from the side you can tell that many more mechanics have been added/updated from previous Xbox controllers.

The PS4 controller.

Well, that’s about it folks. Interesting, huh? From the early years to the now current generation gaming controllers, a lot has changed. Although some might find these photos dull or obvious, just take a step back and appreciate how far gaming has come and all the technology that’s been put into these controllers.

One thing is for sure, it will never really matter how complicated or advanced a controller can be. Back in the day, the simplest of controllers with one or two buttons could keep somebody entertained and make people engage in something fun, and that’s what it’s all about.
